The 21st century has brought a new era of fashion for teenagers, with a focus on individuality, comfort, and expression.
Individuality is key in the teenage fashion code of the 21st century. Teenagers want to stand out and make a statement with their fashion choices. They want to show the world their unique personality and style. To achieve this, many teenagers mix and match different styles and patterns to create a look that is truly their own.
As a teenager living in Nigeria in the 21st century, I've seen how the fashion code for teenagers has evolved over the years. Growing up, I remember being influenced by the styles of the celebrities I saw on TV, in music videos, and in movies. But now, with the rise of social media, the fashion choices of teenagers in Nigeria have become much more diverse and creative.
As much as it is in such a stage, we are still having the religious, societal pressure and age barrier. Teenagers are not given the privilege to express themselves by the virtue of their age. When it comes to teenage fashion, most parents will rather not allow their children move with such a trend because it is seen as immoral.
I am quite dependent on my parents for money to get a bra or panties. As a result morals will not allow go in line with fashion.
For teenagers, in Nigeria, the fashion code is still in its infant stage and moving in a snail pace. However, i do hope with more influencing trends coming out of fashion, the teenage code will be embraced as against what we have.
