Fashion has always been a tool to express one's personality, culture and beliefs. But in the past, the fashion industry was exclusive and catered only to a specific demographic, disregarding a large portion of the population. However, in recent years, the industry has begun to shift towards inclusivity and diversity, breaking down the boundaries and promoting fashion beyond boundaries.
Fashion beyond boundaries also means embracing diversity. The industry is now more open to models of different ethnicities, body types and ages. This has led to a more representative representation of the world in fashion campaigns and on the runway. By embracing diversity, the fashion industry is promoting a positive message of acceptance and inclusivity.

Growing up, I noticed that the fashion industry in Nigeria was dominated by a narrow definition of beauty and style. To understand the root causes of this lack of inclusivity and diversity, I reached out to fashion designers, models, and industry experts. I learned that the challenges are multi-faceted and stem from a lack of representation in the media, a lack of understanding of different body types, and limited access to resources.
To address this challenge, there is a need for more representation in the media, especially in fashion. This can be achieved by promoting models, designers, and influencers who are representative of different body types, skin colors, and hair textures. This will not only make the fashion industry more inclusive but also send a message of acceptance and appreciation for diversity.
In conclusion, Nigeria will continue to face the challenges of inclusivity and diversity, if she does not take care of these challenges as proposed above.
